Do you want to make sure our platform actually does what it’s supposed to — and does it brilliantly? Then you might be the QA Engineer we’re looking for.

Job description

Do you want to make sure our platform actually does what it’s supposed to — and does it brilliantly? We’re shipping fast, and we need someone who can keep us honest, sharp, and confident about the quality of what we deliver. We’re looking for a coaching QA Engineer who loves catching sneaky bugs, getting developers to test from the user's perspective, and campaigning for better practices. You’ll lead the charge on testing — from automation to exploratory adventures — and coach the team so that testing becomes a key technical enabler, rather than a gate.

😏 This is what you say at parties

"I make sure our energy software runs perfectly — because saving the planet’s hard enough without buggy dashboards getting in the way."

🔥 What you’ll be doing:

👉 Designing and executing test strategies for new and existing cloud platform services
👉 Contributing hands-on to critical automated and manual tests when it adds value
👉 Leading by example and, with support, coaching developers to write meaningful automated tests and testable code
👉 Fostering a quality-first culture through code reviews, pairing, and CI improvements
👉 Defining and evolving testing standards, tools, and metrics for the team
👉 Investigating bugs and customer issues, ensuring lessons learned improve our process

Job requirements

🎯 You’ll thrive in this role if:

✔️ You see quality as a team responsibility, not just a role, and you’re evangelical about this.
✔️ You love working in Agile/Scrum teams, collaborating and coaching developers and stakeholders through the full lifecycle of a feature, making sure they build both the right thing and the thing right.
✔️ You have strong communication and collaboration skills — you lead with influence, not authority.
✔️ You enjoy coding in at least one language (e.g. Javascript, Python, Typescript) and you’re not fazed by Git.
✔️ You can easily talk someone’s ear off about testing approaches such as exploratory, performance, load, stress, security, penetration, vulnerability or contract testing.
✔️ You’re comfortable or excited to use Linux/Mac-based command line and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
✔️ You know your way around test automation frameworks for APIs and UIs (e.g. Jest, Pytest, Playwright, Selenium)
✔️ You feel at home testing complex distributed cloud systems (exploratory & automated)

💗 This is what we stand for:

✔️ We love ownership. New ideas are welcomed, and experimentation drives our growth. We’re building — which means we expect you to take ownership. Not everything is perfectly structured yet, so if you’re looking for a smooth ride, this isn’t for you. You need to have a true start-up mindset.
✔️ No BS. We keep things simple: direct communication, quick decisions, and the freedom to take responsibility.
✔️ Work hard, play hard. We go bouldering, play board games, and enjoy good food and drinks together after work.

💼 What we offer:

✅ The chance to drive the evolution of our test strategy and execution
✅ Salary between €3000 and €6000 (depending on factors like technical knowledge and experience)

✅ Personal development budget (yes, you can spend it on attempting to learn python for the 5th time)

✅ Stock Appreciation Rights (SARs) giving you the opportunity to benefit from our company’s growth and success

✅ Comprehensive pension plan

✅ Travel allowance, laptop, and unlimited Post-its

✅ Weekly & monthly team socials

✅ The opportunity to work in a company that’s changing the future of energy

✅ A dynamic and motivated team with direct communication and an informal atmosphere

We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.

We know that different perspectives make us stronger — and better at what we do. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities, even if you don’t tick every box in the requirements. If you’re excited about the role and our mission, we want to hear from you.
